Estonian patterns

Present day Estonia has been inhabited for over ten thousand years. The retreating ice-cap released a homeland that people have been adapting to their needs for millennia. Fields, pastures and hayfields have been created. Without arbitrary greed, forests have been cleared and planted. So, contemporary Estonia is a mosaic in which cultivated and natural landscapes are woven together. This ‘patchwork’, unique in Europe,  is a joy to animals and part of the Estonian psyche.
